Kristina North, United States Air Force

Dale K. Graham Veterans Foundation

Our Veteran of the week Kristina North served in the United States Air Force from 2014-2018 as an Airborne Radar Technician.  Kristina rung the bell last week and was honored in front of our veterans and their families.  Thank you, Kristina, for your service to our country.  We appreciate you!

As many of you know, we are celebrating our second anniversary Friday at our location in Norman at 1268 North Interstate Drive.  I would have never believed we could have grown so much so quickly. As we continue to look at ways to help more veterans and their families it may be time for you to consider being a volunteer with our organization.  Our men and women who volunteer with us do not have to wonder if they are making a difference in the lives of veterans and their families, the see it each day we open our doors to veterans and their families telling us how we changed their lives.  The most common statement we hear is “you don’t know what your volunteers have done for my family.”  There are a lot of men and women in our country who would not be able to have a place to call home if it were not for the VA benefits that they are receiving.  I believe all veterans should receive the VA benefits they are eligible for.  One of the most important is the VA Health Care veterans who have a service-connected disability of only 10% are eligible for.

Last week we had 28 veterans rated at 100%, and as a combined group they will receive$1,098,408 annually.  Sixty-nine veterans received ratings 10% to 90% and will get a combined annual $930,317.  Two surviving spouses were approved for benefits and will receive a combined $35,018.  Congratulations to each of you and we are glad to be of assistance.

I have been granted by the Muskogee VA Regional office more hours of access time to review claims in the VA VBMS computer system. This will enable us to review more information the VA has on the veterans and surviving spouses who we represent. We have been assisting veterans for over 25 years to receive the VA benefits they are eligible for.  Today’s VA is being the most responsive to veterans and their families as I have ever seen since beginning this mission to make a difference in the lives of the men and women who have served our country.  I know that we have made a difference in the lives of tens of thousands of veterans and their families.  I plan to continue this mission as long as there are veterans who need the support of other veterans.

As a 501-3-C, we have several ways that we raise funds to support our Veterans Foundation.  The main one is donations from some of the men and women we have assisted.  We also apply for grants and have our automobile donation program where people give us their old cars trucks, tractors motorcycles and other items that can be given to veterans or sold to raise funds to provide our services.  Some of the veterans we have helped will buy that new truck they always wanted and then give their old one to us.  There are many ways that we can be helped.  On an average month we spend over twenty-five thousand dollars supporting veteran needs.  We ask that you give however you are able. You can donate directly on our website or mail to PO Box 592 Washington, OK  73093   Help us serve veterans and their families.

Counselors from the Vet Centers are here each session, and a Legal Aid representative is here on Thursdays.  We have food baskets available for those who qualify.  We look forward to your visit and thank you for trusting us to help you with your VA matters.

We are available every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 1268 North Interstate Drive Norman, OK 73072.  We open the doors by 5:30 a.m., and we begin working as soon as volunteers have their computers ready.

Visit our website at for more information. There you will find a section on Frequently Asked Questions.  You may also contact us at 405-550-8806 for information or to schedule transportation.

As always, I want to say Thank You to all veterans and their families for their service to the United States of America.
